33 Months

Last night, Dad brought home a puzzle game for our daughter. It was a box full of cards with images of Prince and Princesses, Kings and Queens, tiara and flowers and other things associated to royalty. Little daughter, who just turned 33 months old was so happy -- she laid all the cards on our bed. One by one, we read the names of the princesses on the cards and I was not surprised when she remembered all their names in one seating. After all, kids her age are like sponges, they copy and mimic everything. Plus she love royalties, palaces and flowers so it's no big deal.

However, a toddler like her can be moody at times, and so she refused to pack away the cards. In a gentle voice, I told her the importance of taking care of her toys. That she has to pack away after playing with them, that she has to value them because there are other kids who aren't as lucky as her to have the toys that she's enjoying. I went on in explaining that she's blessed to have a father who spoils her, while there are kids who doesn't have parents anymore and some are even hungry because they don't have money to buy food. I ended the litany by saying that she should help Mommy in packing away and then she replied "Okay".

After that, she burst in tears and said "Sorry Mommy".

I am not so sure if she understood what I've said but I am pretty sure it wasn't my voice that made her upset. After that, I melted. I never really thought that at her tender age of 33 months, she'll react that way on the things I've said. Kill me! But my daughter has always been (and will always be) a baby in my eyes. Like she won't ever outgrew her innocence. And of course, I was wrong.

Haaay, my baby.

This month, she likes "pepel" (purple) more than ever!

And holds her pen in pivot position very well.

Bibiyow: Mommy, I draw monster. (Mommy, I will draw a monster.)
Mommy: No, I don't like a monster. I'm afraid of a monster.
B: Mommy, don't afraid monsters (Mommy, don't be afraid of monsters).
M: No, I'm scared. Monster will eat Liapopot.
B: No, monster not eat Liapopot. Monster eat Mommy. (No, the monster will not eat Liapopot. The monster will eat Mommy).

Kaloka!
And yes, she like drawing, too..

... and tumbling?!!!!!

And for some other reasons -- hiding! Leave her alone and you'll find her under your coffee table, inside your cabinet, or your drawer, and even inside the laundry hamper!

I am amazed and in love with her.

Frozen fever? It's still on. She has finally decided that she's the Snow Queen Elsa and she's literally in character in school, at home, in the mall and everywhere she goes.

My child is growing. And it makes me crazy. And to Him, I will always be thankful.
