Lola's Best Restaurant

One of our main problems at the end of each workday is where to eat dinner. Considering the traffic that we have to endure on our way home, our tummy has become so stubborn to wait till we get home for dinner. Fast food is already out of the choices, okay I'm being dishonest here. It's still an option but we are really trying all our best to get rid of fast foods for a healthier us.

Prior to hub's business trip, we discovered this restaurant in a corner at Jupiter St Makati. Lola's Best offers "home cooked" meals 24/5 (weekdays only).

The way to order is turo-turo style. After paying, the cashier will give you a thing that will buzz up when your order is ready (like that of some milk-tea stores, how is it called again?)

Heard the place is usually packed at lunch time but on that particular night that we visited, we only shared the place with another couple sitting next to our table.

The walls of the restaurant were decorated with lots of grandma photos.

I just noticed that the collage of the Best Lolas is incomplete. Why? Simply because Mama's photo isn't there yet :)

Meanwhile, I've toured you enough to the place. Now let's get down to what they have to offer: food.

On that particular visit, hubs ordered their Rellenosilog. I had their house specialty Bangus Sardines in Olive Oil and their Special Halo-Halo for the dessert. Hubs' meal also included a complimentary Moringa Juice.

The verdict: the food was okay but nothing special. I wasn't actually able to find the "best" in "Lola's Best". I find everything (including the halo-halo) a little bland. Or maybe I am just used to having all the flavors dancing on my palette.

On a lighter note, their dinuguan is another story. Hubby ordered it on our second visit (yes, we went there again) and sorry, no photo. If ever we will come back there again, that will probably be my only choice.
