On Blogging and Friendship

It has been more than a couple of weeks since we had our first (and more to come) play date with my mommy friends and their adorable kiddos. Things have been pretty laid back with me lately hence my failure to post this entry :( Churi,  it must be the weather, or the placement of the moon, or probably just plain laziness :)

Anyhow, full version (as if sobrang dami) of the photos have been published in my FB account. All the while I thought hubby was taking photos, but I was surprised to see that there were only 35 shots! Yun na yun! Everything including the blurry shots and the signature shots such as the following:

We never really thought that we could make it to the play date. Apparently, five days before the scheduled get together, we rushed Lia to the hospital due to gastroenteritis (full story here). Thankfully, we were discharged by Friday. We stayed at home the next day, took a rest and observed how our little girl's condition will be. Told the mommies that I won't be able to make it because in as much as I really want to go to the play date, I also do not want to sacrifice Lia's health. But thankfully, she was active and jolly the whole day and looked like in need of a pasyal after being tied to her IV for three days. Come Saturday night, I finally got the green light from our Dr. Mama and Dr. Day-dee that we can all go to the play date the next day! Yebbah!

We arrived late at the venue because minutes before our original departure from the house, the tornado in the person of Lia broke her Day-dee's eyeglasses. Maggie and Em together with the kiddos were already lined up for a ride so it was Raviv whom Lia first met. Here they are, trying to get comfortable with each other in a "drama scene" with Tiger :)

Tita Em distributed little soft balls to the kids. Lia loves balls, but for some reasons, we didn't have one when we arrived home. Apparently, Lia distributed them to everyone, too! Hehe :)

But she enjoyed the cake pops from Tita Maggie! She even asked Ate Akira for some Tita Cat cake pops :)

Lia's mommy loved Dew's pasalubong from Elbi. Presenting, the best chocolate cake in the entire universe (oh diba?) Mernel's chocolate cake. Super nyam-nyam! Reminds me of my college days :)

The kids spent their time minding their own businesses aka playing with their pads, iPhone and tabs. That's how techy kids nowadays are. See their photos here. 

We had a sumptuous lunch ala big family with Daddies and Mommies chatting non-stop. Exchanging tips about tantrums and parenthood, sharing family dreams without any fear of rejection, and enjoying each others company like good old fellas.

But wait, just when everybody thought that the Daddies doesn't have any photo because they were the one taking the photos -- I just found one taken by my very own photographer.

Well, hubby was kinda disappointed when he realized that our only group photo, doesn't include him. Next time na lang if their plans pushes through (fingers crossed).

Anyhow, meeting other mommy friends is one of the best things that this blog thingie has given me. Maggie, Dew and I have been office mates before but never really had the chance to bond like this. Probably because we do not have anything in common back then. But now, motherhood, toddler hood and blogger (hood?) have bonded us and it was really amazing. And what's more to that is the meeting of new friends (Em and Maqui -- Maqui we missed you here!). Strangers that you really do not know but you feel instantly comfortable with like long lost friends the first time you meet. One of the sweet treats of life!
