Disclaimer: Super late post (and more to come).
It has always been raining on my birthday and on all the important celebrations in my life. So if you plan to go to the beach on a mid-year, please not on my birthday or on the week of that. We had a big mistake last year (which I realized I haven't blog about yet) when we went to Punta Fuego with the hope that the sun will shine. Fail! It was raining really hard the the big sea waves scared the hell out of me.
Anyhow, my birthday celebration last month brought a different story. While it was rainy and gray in the Philippines that time, we were sunbathing in the scorching heat of the sun at the sunshiny and bright city of Singapore. It was sunny and so hot, I almost cried :) One of my best birthday celebrations, so far, because I celebrated the day exclusively with my two loves.
Our day started super early when hubs surprised me with his annual signature birthday cake early in the morning. I know there have been a mishap, well almost, on the delivery of the cake so the hotel generously provided additional fruits as tokens :)
What made hubs' traditional cake-early-in-the-morning classic was the little tot who got confused between singing me a Happy Birthday song or blowing the candle.
My birthday was our last day in SG, and since our flight back home was at 7pm, we literally still had the whole day to ourselves. As the birthday celebrant, hubs had me crafted that day's itinerary to my own liking (as if I don't really do it on other days).
So after brekky, I chose to bring my little girl to the pool where she had so much fun (and where I had so much fun watching her having fun). She was giggling and giggling! My water baby. She was so happy that we had a hard time pulling her out of the water :)
By around noon, we've already slept a little and packed our things for check out. We still had plenty of time before we left for the airport so we grabbed the opportunity to look around. I love that our hotel was inside Resorts World and just walking distance from majority of the kids' attractions in Singapore.
We spent the afternoon walking around Sentosa Island, having photos taken with the birds, riding the cable car, dining at the Jewel Box and taking lots and lots of photos (with the little girl strutting her signature pose).
Our adult ticket to the cable car already included a complimentary cake and coffee/tea at Jewel Box, the resto at the other end of the cable car ride (coming from Sentosa). That's where we had my birthday lunch and I have to mention (especially) that their cakes are really yummy!
I have already loved the rain on my birthday. I see them as blessings, the harder it rains, the better :) But once in a while, it's nice to have a hot, sunshiny day too. For a change.
Happy Mid-Week!!
