One Day (A Weekend Story)

I'm so sleepy today! I haven't had enough rest recently. I had a one-long-day weekend. One day in a sense that I woke up on Saturday morning, and didn't sleep until it was Sunday evening.

Saturday morning went like the usual for us. We had unhealthy, yet yummy, fast food brekky while I cooked food for lunch. The three of us took a nap in the afternoon and woke up when it was time to go to Bibiyow's swimming class. Like the usual, she was very excited and eager for the class. She was even telling me "Mommy, aster. Lesgow" (Mommy, faster. Let's go) when we were at the locker room. Hubs joined us on that day so after the lesson, we bonded at the kiddie pool. It was fun, so much! Until, Bibiyow becomes lethargic when we were already dressed up and leaving. I noticed that her body temp was a little elevated.

At home, she was already having a 38.3 fever. I gave her paracetamol and stayed awake the whole night monitoring her temp. Her temp only normalized at around 4am so while waiting for 8am
for her next administration of her meds, I took the opportunity to prepare brekky: adobo for mylab and chicken soup for my sick little girl. To my disappoinment, fever shoot up again so we decided to bring her to the ER already.

Little girl was weak, yet happy coz Miming (the cat) was there for support. We stayed at the ER the whole day. Amazingly, I never felt hungry or sleepy at all! I was on straight Mommy-mode. F na F ko ang pagiging nanay because my sick baby was like "Mommy, Mommy" all the time :)

Until...

Mama and Papa arrived late in the afternoon :) Worried Mama brought cookies to her baby girl which unfortunately was left untouched by the latter. She didn't want to eat them because her favorite animals were on it.

She was kissing each cookie and naming each animal. I pretended to be "mommy cookie monster" and tried to steal cookies and kisses from her :)

Thankfully, we were discharged in the early evening. Bibiyow was diagnosed with UTI, nothing to worry about but still something not to be taken for granted.

Hubs and I attended the mass that night and decided to buy our little girl her very first "Pinces Bambi" (Princess Barbie). She was ecstatic when we came home and said "Mommy, itchur Pinces Bambi. click" (Mommy, picture with Princess Barbie. Click)

Yay!!! Eventful weekend! I hope our little girl will recover soon.

How was your weekend? Stay safe and dry friends :)
