Balboa Night

Have you been to the East Wing of Edsa Shangri La Mall?? Nice noh? It's even brighter than the old one and the air conditioners are in full swing. If you are like me who gets cold easily, you need not to be there in shorts or sandos :)

The first time I've been there was when we attended their Easter Party last March. There were still very few establishments that time, and now, more and more stores and restaurants are opening up. Last Monday, hubs brought me out for a post-Mother's Day dinner and tried out, for the first time, one of the newly opened restaurants called Baboa.

We were supposed to dine at the other restaurant, that serves pizza and pasta also, near Balboa but the elegant and cozy set up of the place plus the hip and chic outfit of the receptionist ended us sitting in two of their lovely round back chairs, right below this deer--

We were in the mood to indulge a little and be a little "unhealthy" (on that night only) so we ordered steak along with pasta and tried out one of their unique refreshments.

US Wagyu

This piece of meat was gone in a second. Okay, we didn't really just swallow it so let's just say it was gone in less than five minutes. The mashed potato was so creamy and the meat was so soft and ... so expensive!!! Actually, we had a funny story about this wagyu beef. There's another US Wagyu in their menu (Da Vinci, if I am not mistaken), with a price half of this one. That was what we ordered, and maybe due to miscommunication and lack of clarification, this one was served. We almost choked when the bill came! But at least, we've tried it coz I will definitely not order it on a normal/regular day :)

Lychee, Lime and Honey Shake

The drink was a major bomb to me. I could have finished it if only I wasn't suffering with GERD. The sweet and fruity flavor of honey and lychee, blended so well with the sourness of lime with a kick of soda! So refreshing :)

There are other interesting items in their menu other than pizza, pasta and steak, something to look forward to in our next visit.
