Lia's teeth have always been one of my worries. At a young age, she already had a milk stain that gave us all a hard time. Dr. Saulog advised that it will eventually fade away after continuous brushing but it turned out that brushing isn't the little belle's most favorite thing so you can imagine the tears and fighting that we have to do twice daily.
So last month, I finally decided to bring her to a pedia dentist. It was a wrong move for us to take the advice of the first dentist that we've been to few months ago, saying that it was too young for Lia to be checked so he told us to come back after Lia turns two. We later found out from Dentista, Inc. that kids can be checked as soon as a tooth pops out.
At Dentista, Inc., the dentist was surprised that Lia has cavities already. I was stunned, too. All the while, I thought our daily brushing is doing its magic but it turned out that we weren't able to thoroughly clean it because sometimes I gave up easily with the little girl's wailing and crying.
Thankfully, it was not too late for us. On that day, Lia had five of her teeth filled! Grabe, as far as I remember, I was in high school when I first had a tooth pasta!
Sitting Lia on the dental chair was an easy breasy. I let Mama hold her because I will be taking the photos. Haha. Plus, I know she will be more comfortable with her. The dentist let her hold a dental utensil while the filling was being prepared.
Putting the pastas on her teeth wasn't really as hard as I thought it would be. I was imagining some drilling but it turned out to be like some sort of game with the dentist sticking some tiny bubble gums in Lia's teeth.
Of course there was some crying and a total drama. A dental nurse had to assist Mama in making sure that Lia will keep her head still. The crying also helped in keeping her mouth wide open :)
It took the dentist just a few minutes to finally cover the cavities. After the activity, she made a balloon out of rubber gloves so bibiyow immediately made a 360-degree turn with her mood.

Happy Friday! Here's to wishing you all a blessed weekend ahead :)

Yey Lia! Mukhang at ease pa nga si Lia sa Dental chair. Si Lucas the moment we his dentist asks him to open his month, the drama begins! Hehe. Pero yeah, better cry now than later because of cavities :)
ReplyDeleteNaku, Mars! Ganyan din sinabi sakin ng dentist na pinuntahan namin before, she said that we should bring Cyler when he reach two, Cyler has stains na rin sa teeth and I'm so worried. Si Cj kampante sa sinabi ng dentist before but I keep on insisting na maghanap kami ng pedia dentist talaga. Maybe we should try this one. Thanks for sharing, Mars! :)
