Most of Gaudi's works in Barcelona were turned into museums and are accessible with a fee. For our guided tour, only the trips to La Sagrada Familia Basilica and Park Guell were included in package. And since we have limited time, and moolah, we decided to just choose one last museum to visit on our second to the last day of stay in the city.
Our tour guide higly suggested that we visit Casa Mila, popularly know as La Pedrera, located at Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona. La Pedrera is also a UNESCO World heritage site declared on 1984.
Casa Mila was named after its owner, Pere Milà i Camps. It is considered to be the most unusual building in its time.
Entrance to the museum costs EUR16.50/adult and it will already give you access to the four important parts of the building: the roof, the attic (where Espai Gaudi is), the apartment, and exhibition rooms.
The apartment showcase the set up that mimics the bourgeois life in the early 20th century, during Gaudi's time.
My favorite part of the building is definitely the roof, where these creatively designed chimneys (which looked like Ultraman's head to me) can be found.

ReplyDeleteI´m glad that they already allow publishing of photos of La Pedrera thru the internet! :) When I was there about 4 years ago, I´ve read in the guide pamphlet that publishing of images of La Pedrera especially the interior part isn´t allowed or maybe nagkamali lang ako ng basa noon so I didn´t place any photo aside from the facade in my blog, hahaha!
ReplyDeleteIt´s such an artfully and beautifully designed, building, no? :)
