Mom At Work

We’ve been living a yaya/maid less life for more than two months now. Because finding a dependable and trustworthy yaya/maid is like winning the lottery, ever since Weng got sick, Mama and I decided to cease the hunt and just take turns in caring for Lia. And I have declared, for so many times already, that I am one lucky Momme to have my Mom with me – every step of the way. If not because of my Mom, there won’t be date nights and anniversary trips for us! For two months already, we are getting the hang out of this set up – Mama takes care of Lia on workdays and me on weekends. But when urgent things come up that requires Mama to leave, like last Friday, I have no choice but to babysit in the office.

A working mom -- literally!!

The challenge in having Lia in the office is keeping her mouth shut to avoid distracting my office mates (especially with her occasional “WOW” for anything that is new to her eyes) and keeping her glued beside me. And please don’t ask me how I do it, I am still clueless! I am just so happy to have supportive friends in the office who helped me keep my baby girl occupied during her half-day stay at work.

Busy reviewing the empty pages of my office mate's notebook :)
Flowers that her Dad gave me
Just like what I was expecting, she roamed around the office and said her “Hi’s and Hello’s” depending on her mood. I gave her pen and papers, and she tore the papers. She borrowed my officemates mini-wooden bird on a stick (i dunno how to describe it), few minutes later, the pieces are no longer attachable. And she didn’t spare the telephones in the office (even at her Daddy’s).

Daddy's Office
Crazy day it was! One of the tough parts of being a working mom – and yet, I love it!

After a long day at work, it's time to go home.
How about you Mommies? How do you handle days without a babysitter? :)

  7. I have to take a leave off from work if I have no yaya for the day. Buti pwedeng dalhin si Lia sa office nyo? Sa min sana pwede kung di naman pansin kasi naka-isolate na area naman ako. Kaso sa sobrang daldal ng anak ko, I'm pretty sure everyone will notice that I have a toddler with me haha! Lia on the other hand, looks so behave!

  9. Lucky you Mars you can bring the kiddo to work. When we have no yaya, hubs and I take turns in filing emergency leaves at work. (Altho on hindsight, I don't think I can work anyways when I bring the kid to work so siguro this set up is what's best for us)
