Silka Seaview Hotel

For our recent Christmas trip, we specifically wanted to stay in a hotel that is conveniently located near everything considering that we have this active toddler in tow. Last year's hotel was really nice, but a little too far from downtown. And since we also wanted to try a different side of Hong Kong, we booked our accommodation at Silka Seaview Hotel.

Silka Seaview is part of the Silka Hotel chain in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The not so good things about this hotel:
1. Rooms are too small. You wouldn't even have enough space for your luggage and an active toddler. (which my daughter didn't mind)

2. Staff speaks so little English.

3. Here's how they keep luggage of guests who've already checked out but still have time to roam around before their flight.

4. Free wifi -- but the connection is the slowest of them all.

Now, the good thing about this hotel:

Aside from toiletries that are replenished daily, it's the LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
It's just right next to Temple Street Market and Jade Market, few steps away from the Yau Ma Tei MTR Station, very close to Nathan Road and Ladies' Market and right at the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok!

For budget travelers like us (especially with a toddler in tow) who only need a place to doze off at night, this is a good and affordable place to stay :)

  4. I like sea view hotels the most. I booked a good hotel in koh samui with nice sea view at cheap prices.
