The weekend before we left for Barcelona, I painted our kitchen red and made red velvet cupcakes. Those red cuppies were my redeemer from the first one I did which really inspired me to keep on trying :) After that, I realized that good baking relies mostly on finding (or for some -- creating) the best recipe. It is like a Chemistry experiment where you have to have all the right elements in order to get the right outcome.
My red velvet cupcakes were still far from perfect but they were far much better than the chocolate cupcakes I made on my first try! And to celebrate my first "self-declared" success, I shared some of them with my friends and loved ones. Thankfully, no violent reactions so far and they were all so polite. Period :)
