Baker Wannabe

I have always wanted to bake. A year ago, I told myself that I will enroll in a baking class but wasn't able to do so. However last week, I found myself googling about cupcake makers one night and then depositing bank payment the next day. The day after that, I got my own cupcake maker. Yebbah!

Without any knowledge about baking, I bought the cupcake maker with the end goal in mind: I want Lia to bring cupcakes to school everyday! Haha. And it was so lovely that I have a supportive hubby who surprised me with baking tools after a long work week.

So we capped our weekend last night with a sweet bonding. The little girl joined Daddy in waiting for my first ever cupcake experiment. Daddy watched TV and played basketball while Bibiyow -- well, she made pakialam in everything.

Took me a while to prepare all the items and just a few minutes in baking the cupcakes. The makers are really work of wonders! However, the cleaning and dish washing afterwards were a  pain in the _$$! But I am not complaining. Hehe! It pays off to hear a little girl babbling "Nyam-nyam" and stealing unfrosted cupcakes from the table.

The finished product is so-so. Not so sure what went wrong because the cupcakes are a little bit dry and my frosting is too sweet even after religiously following the recipe that comes along with the maker. Maggie said, it might be the beating and mixing.

My cupcakes are still far from being shared with other people, sorry -- mukhang marami pa akong kakaining bigas, or in this case -- cupcakes. But not bad for my first try, my husband and daughter loved them (as if they have a choice -- haha!).

  2. Hello Talia. They are actually choco cupcakes. But a lot thought they were red velvet. It must be due to the filter I used when I edited the photos :)

  3. Galing naman! I must say they look delish. Ang galing ng frosting mukhang perfect and consistency. Ako lagi, hindi tumitigas ng ganyan ang frosting kaya pangit. I love baking too kaya lang walang time hehe. I've been seeing cupcake makers quite often ha... naiintriga na talaga ako :-D
