The Winning DIY'd Costume

I wish I could catch up on my backlogs soon. It's been a fun and tiring long weekend! Thankfully, I am able to squeeze in some time to face my computer tonight, while the bibiyow, with a new do by the way (more about that soon), is busy playing with her iPad (Thank you Steve Jobs!).

It's no more Halloween, but I have lots of Halloween party stories to share and document. So before I start writing about it one by one, and before Lia realizes that she wants to share Mom-me's laptop, let me just share with you my Bibiyow's DIY'd Halloween Costume!

Wait, short story about it first.

I already bought an angel costume from Toys R Us on the first week of October. But one afternoon in the office, a light bulb moment came with the image of Pebbles Flinstones inside the bulb. All the while, I had Pebbles on my mind but after collaborating with Mama and hubby, the finished product showed otherwise.

STAGE MOMMA VOICE OVER: Presenting (insert drumroll), Liapot's winning Halloween Costume!!!

It was made out of a curtain cloth and was hand sewn by Mama, the bangles were from a tiangge and the headpiece was from Landmark which we just modified to match the dress. By the way, my Mom is a very good dressmaker, she did all my uniforms and my gowns for my debut. She even did a whole class' cheerleader costume back in HS!

Here are more photos of bibiyow taken during the dress rehearsal at home. Hihi :)

Lia was actually a Jungle Queen in our eyes. But the parties that we attended to perceived her in so many ways: Little Indian, Pebbles, Amazon Queen and even Pocahontas -- Heheh :)

I actually prepared three costumes for the three parties that we were to attend (turned out we went to four), but after we won Best in Halloween costume on the first party, we decided to stick to this Amazon-Jungle-Indian fusion -- and the rest is history! :)
